Yea, there is not much of a gain unless going to a long tube. I didn't gain much from shorties and full exhaust on my 93 GT. I gained more from the pulleys and timing.

I TRACK tested multiple different combos and with a foxbody the stock airbox/K&N drop in with removed silencer is as good or BETTER than anything else. Even with the 331 NA in my 93 LX it provided enough airflow. On a stock 5.0 ...time tested and proven gains K&N drop in with silencer removed...

Yea in order to get the proper preload AND contact on the valve you have to shim the rocker and play with the pushrod length. Ask me I spent hours doing this with my car. PITA. Just going to a shorter pushrod would not work, I had to use shims as well to get it right. You want to get to zero...

You need at a minimum a new pinion bearing, you could reuse the old one but it is better of not. I can do a set in 4 hrs. $300 is not not too bad though as shop prices are up there these days for labor!

19lbers are fine for where you are at now. I ran 12.77@111 with 19lbers (fmu) and stock 88lph pump in my 93 GT. If you plan on more mods you can always upgrade it like said above. And yes the 340 is fine.

The E Street heads are budget heads, meant to compete with the chines made ones that also have not the best valve train. I liked my TFS but always had great luck with the Edelbrock heads as well. The ProComp work ok but you are better off getting them bare if you do. The valve train is junk I heard. My cousin has them on his 311 and it moves out pretty good. But I'd get TFS or Edelbrock.
