    Arlington High School Car Show

    The 4 cyl 1st gear is taller than that of an 8, The optimal T5 is the 2.95 1st gear ratio. Its been reputed to be one of the stronger units. The 4 cyl trans didn't seen to last too long with a nice set of slicks, but it launced like an S.O.B. .......... ONCE

    Sound like a solid deal. Check around the strut towers as well. Spend a little time by the torque boxes too.

    I'm about 100% positive that it will bolt right up, just to be sure, look on the manufacturers web site for part number differences.

    What I was refering too by crushing the gasket was when I used arp's torque spec. I few weeks later I had a coolant leak, I pulled the heads and the gasket looked like it was chewed by a dog. After your head install, be sure to check where your rockers contact your valves. If they favor one side...

    Torque on the heads can also be effected by what thread lube you use. Edelbrocks web site should give you the torque specs, but I'd go with what the manufacturer of the head gasket recommends. I've had problems in the past with using the bolt manufacturers specs and ended up crushing the gasket...

    Should i pull the motor or....

    If you have a lift pull the engine with the cradle out the bottom. If not, I'd take the time to do it in the car. Its definitely possible in the car. Even my 4v isn't too bad. But maybe I'm the one thats nuts:smash:
