If you are going to do gear do at least 4.10's IMHO Going from 3.55 to 4.10 in a Mach 1 is night day and probably the perfect gear. 12.88@109 with 4.10's, x-pipe, catback, cold air, in a 03 Mach 1 in ok condtions.... In a NA 4V 4.6 4.10 is the minimum I'd do!

I would not pay $600 personally, maybe if it was a super low mile motor. They are a good budget motor though, alot of guys running fast with just a cam change, or cam and valve springs.

No, I have 2.73's. 3.27 were optional on 98 GT's and not made standard until 99 on the GT's :)

Screw the Eleanor clone idea, thats way too over done and over rated. I'd make a Bullitt clone way before I did a Eleanor clone.

If you are still going to drive it on the street alot the OD is nice especially with alot of gear. AOD-E can be built and modded go fast. Look at all the sick 03/04 with the 4R70W in them. Those are just a newer updated version of the AOD-E click here for more info...

My friend ran Moser 31 splines, rebuild trac-loc with extra clutches, and diff cover and ran 10.81@126.7 1.42 60s and ran it for years like that. If you are going to race it alot I'd get the tubes welded, 31 spline diff and axles, and then a Truetrac...

Looks like someone got sideways into a pole/tree etc. It needed a driver mod instead of a pulley and cold air lol.

Just takes practice! I drive my cars hard though, but I used to race 2 times a week every summer. Before my daughter of course. I'm one thats all for squeezing the best time possible before going with more power or mods.

Actually, with 3.73 the Red as I stated is good for 85-89 T-5, 90-93 takes a white 23 tooth.

My 98 GT has 89k miles, bbk offroad xpipe, SLP LM2 catback, AEM intake,and Predator with can tune (I'm going to fine tune asap just got new wideband sensor in other day). STOCK 2.73 gears and it is 5spd. Track conditions, 89* DA of 2880 ft.:thumbsdown: 1st pass and the best one!! 14.28@96.5...
