I'm loving all this rain at the moment. Cleaning off the salt well! I hope to have the engine in this weekend and trans in next weekend. I'm pumped! I still need to get a thermostat gasket, coolant, clutch cable, fuel line to extend my rails and maybe an intake spacer.

Went to NAPA yesterday to pick up my Fel-Pro rear main seal for the 351w, bought the most expensive one i could. Hope it stays leak free for a long time. Also found out Valvoline synthetic MERC ATF was on sale! From $6.97 a bottle down to $4.49! So i picked up 3 quarts.

Didn't realize you started a thread here. I wonder if anyone can guess the mileage on this car by looking at the pics and vids? Really want to know whats going on with it, i think the engine builder was incompetent, and the P/O babied it so much that it never brought a possible issue to light.

The best I saw when I swapped gears was 23 mpg. Before I could get 26. One downfall for sure.

Cant wait to see the progress! I would love to eventually put a 6 speed in my car so i can hit mid 20's in MPG on the highway again! Not anymore with the 3.73's.

Degreased and pressure washed the bellhousing today. Also removed the rubber bushings from my new trans crossmember to prepare for paint. Before pics:

Im using stock convertible motor mounts. Supposedly the engine sits a tad bit lower with these and are a bit stronger than older hatch/notch mounts i hear, but i dont know for myself. I was taking every step to try to get away with my stock hood.

Got the block sealed yesterday. I had 2 sets of fel-pro intake gaskets, matched them up and used the larger set. Slapped the GT-40 lower on. Also go the harmonic balancer on. Also got my new Valeo clutch today.

I actually bought them used from a friend with very few miles in them. They came complete. A lot of people don't like these heads duevti Chinese casting. Bug Vic jars are out of my pay grade.
