I made 500+ rwhp on my stock block with stock internals before shit got twisted (block was still solid but the pistons, rods, etc were not). 302s can take major abuse and it can be done, but not too much more the 500 and not for too long.

I've heard that the ebay kits are cheap for a reason - that the head units are sometimes real junk, that the headers don't fit or crack at the welds, and that they need a LOT of work to make the piping fit. A couple friends have said they ended up spending as much on making it work then just...
