Almost ready to crash into a wall!!

Vacuum leak could definitely be a problem. Fuel pressure might not be rising with rpms. But if the car stalls at red lights, that could be the fuel pump or a filter problem. He needs to find the problem before he nukes the motor.

Almost ready to crash into a wall!!

Youre not running rich-- youre lean. Those little specs on the ceramic of the plug came from your pistons. Youre detonating. It seems you might need to address some fuel system issues. How old is the fuel pump? What size is it?

    a/c compressors

Do you have a compressor from an 86? If so then it will fit with the right lines. Does the car have the accumulator, liquid line, evaporator and condenser?

Almost ready to crash into a wall!!

The K&N is a good move. Is the air silencer in the fender still there? Get it out if it is. As far as the timing goes, when the funds allow get yourself a timing retard like the ones from NOS, Jacobs, MSD etc. They will let you run more initial timing on the street for better power and they pull...

You should also bump that timing a little bit. 10 deg is where the factory set it. You could probably go as high as 14. It makes a big difference. Get rid of the stock airbox if it is still there.

    a/c compressors

I have done all of the work on my cars and my bike. As far as the a/c compressor goes, pull the old one out and bring it with you and match it up. Dont pay those dealer prices if you dont have to.

Almost ready to crash into a wall!!

If the car otherwise runs good, doesnt burn oil, doesnt make any strange noises and has good oil pressure at idle then dont worry about it.

Wow, with mileage that high new injectors couldnt hurt. Post back after you check the plugs.

    a/c compressors

There might be a difference between compressors depending on whether the a/c uses r-12 or r134a refrigerant. Could also be a rebuilt unit and a new one.

Almost ready to crash into a wall!!

How many miles on the car? It is possible that there is one or two injectors that are dripping but that shouldnt cause the problem you are seeing. Are you sure the injectors are 19s?

    a/c compressors

No. They look the same but if I remember correctly the 86 has separate lines coming out of the back and the 93 uses a block that has both lines attached to it.

Almost ready to crash into a wall!!

Code 34 is the EGR valve voltage out of limit. 42 and 92 are rich conditions detected at the o2 sensors (left and right). Could be possible EGR failure? Maybe try disconnecting the EGR valve and see what happens? Have the o2 sensors been changed?

It may be a non mass air car but you cant just change the injectors either. Speed Density is designed for 19lbs. Are you using 19lb injectors? The only other thing that I can think of off hand that will make the car load up like that is a bad map sensor. Can you get your hands on a code scanner...

Almost ready to crash into a wall!!

Its hard to diagnose a miss without hearing it. What about your ignition? Wheres the timing at? How are the plugs, wires, cap, rotor? How about the coil and module? Clean the plugs, start the car wait for the miss to start then shut it down and pull the plugs. See if they are all black or if it...

Can you verify fuel pressure? How old is that regulator? Are you sure youre not getting idle surge from a dirty idle bypass valve?

You need to look at one of those restoration catalogs. Try Eastwood. Summit has some paints too.
