It doesn't hold the heat like metal does but I don't believe there is extra material in the pipe for the fitting. The 94/95 had it but they only offer a plastic discharge for those cars. You could probably epoxy a fitting into so it would not come out I guess. I just like the extra material of the aluminum ones and also the option to later go to a mini race bypass.
No idea why they didn't use the Vortech oil feed line unless they got the kit used and didn't want to fork over the $$$.
What I would get...
42lbers or 60lbers for injectors
Lightning MAF or BA2400 (need harness/connector as well)
8 rib pulley setup with 3.12 (10lbs est.) or 2.95(12lbs est.)
bypass
good tune via a chip (better off with a tune via tweecer or moates qh if possible)
wideband - not a 100% needed item but I prefer to have one
Normally the 90mm LMAF is good to at least 450rwhp or more but this can be verified on the dyno. If you have the $$ I'd get a BA2400 to have yourself covered 100%.
There are plenty of guys making good power with the Sc-Trim so don't worry about it if thats what it is. It just has to be spun more RPM.

Yes, you can use the 03/04 meter too. I believe the 01 up Lightning 90mm and the Cobra are the same meter but I'll have to check when I get home. I usually just buy an oem harness and solder it in place but if you want the option of just plug and go get the adapter harness.
The only thing I caution that you ( the OP) verify the MAF voltage via datalogging to make sure it is not close to pegging. Any time you have a bend before or after the meter it usually effects this.
A lot of Cobra and Lightning owners have popped there motors due to being on the edge of the stock meters capability then once it gets cold out they peg the meter. Cooler weather = denser air.

Mine is just going to be a street car and of course will hit the track too. It's heavy and the suspension is not 1/4 friendly though. I have to finish wiring the wideband and then I can fire it up and set the timing. Then either I'll street tune the car, tune at the track, or take it to a dyno close and do it there, probably have to be Quinton Bros. in VT or RPM in VT.

I finally got ahold of Vortech. The Sc is an S-Trim for sure. I gave him the serial # to verify. He told me that the discharge tube should be the aluminum type like yall said. Maybe the reason for the small oil line is it does not have the braiding like i senn on your car. I will plan to get a pretty lookin line like you guys have! He told me to get the 2.92 pulley and it should be 10psi. Im gonna get the injectors and MAF soon. Why did you suggest 42#ers and not 60#ers? Jsut so you have more juice then me? Just kidding. Dave do you have a discharge tube layying around? Also i want that blow off you mentioned you have. Shoot me a #. You also mentioned you were going to VT for a tune? I wanna meet up with you and go there as well. Do i need to buy a chip before that or does the shop supply there own. You guys awoke a beast in the making! I tune my own car, but was thinking of going there to dyno it. Depending where you live you might have a tuner local to you.
Thats strange for sure! The only thing I can think of is they pieced the kit together had an A-Trim and sold it for the S-Trim head unit? Very weird. I had a 2.95 pulley on my 331 with 8.5:1 and ported TFS heads and still saw 13lbs with it. I would not go that small if it was me. This is if you get the 8 rib setup.
I think you are getting massive belt slip because with even and 8 rib 3.33 you should be around 9lbs so maybe try going to 8 rib 1st.

I think your right about the belt slippage. When i start the car it sounds like this squeeking metal sound. I replaced all the idle pulleys last year along with the water pump. I thought it was the new serpintine belt i put on. I put belts on both at the same time. I swore up and down that the belt that gave me was making the noise. It must be the SC belt then. When i did the water pump i blew out and cleanded the oil line to the SC. Cheched the shaft for play... All seemed tight. The guy at Vortech said that 5 lb of boost was normal for the S Trim on a stock motor, My motor is not stock so he didnt have an answer for the low boost pressure. He suggested a smaller pulley to get the boost up. It is probably the 6 rib set up. They dont make a cog set up for the s-Trim? What if they didnt change the crank pulley when they put the SC on? Would the SC make less pressure due to this?
I have an extra bypass, you could try and use the plastic one for now (discharge) like The Bone said. As far as injectors, I went with 60lbers and had 42lbers already but I wanted so room to grow plus the price was right at the time. 39/42 lbers will support alot of power though and you might be fine with those. Alot of guys make 500ish at the wheels with them.
