I hate to say it man but the snout of that crank looks pretty screwed. The balancer is a pressed on piece and I doubt you'll be able to keep one on very long!! Also, I would imagine that there is a ton of metal pieces on the oil pan.

Is it an aftermarket dipstick? If not there is a problem. I have seen enough sludge in an oil pan to take up the room. How does the oil look?
