I wouldnt use laquer, its a very old school setup imo. Ive sprayed singel stage and base/clear, and the base clear hands down is the way to go. Its easier to upkeep, and will last longer if taken care of. Laquer is often prone to cracking over the years. Cheaping out on bodywork is NOT a good...

Ive always used sealer, just make sure to use enough on the corners, as thats a trouble spot for leaks.

Just make sure the mating surfaces are VERY clean. You wont need any loc-tite or anti-seize on the bolts.
