I was going to post a link to this helpful site before. It has a lot of great info some from the original Ford manuals. It has electrical, vacuum, torque sequence, belt routing, you name it. GREAT source of info and a lot of it can be used on ANY 5.0 Mustang as well. 94-98 Mustang Wiring...

My friend is a Canadian Pro Drifter and there are a lot of great cars that have a solid axle. All the old AE86 are solid along with many other cars. You don't have the toe adjustments and stuff with a live axle but less to go wrong. Totally up to you. The Cobra rear is around 1.5" wider I think.

That is a common misconception about live axles. Vaughn Gittin has a live axle LOL. So do the other guys drifting Mustangs. A properly setup live axle with a panhard is fine. Look at some of the griggs and maximum motorsports stuff...
