The seats don't lean, the car doesn't rattle, the doors don't sag. This is really a clean mostly original coupe that hasn't been beaten and hacked up.

The 5.4" rod and 1.09" piston height 347 combo has ZERO effect on oil burning.
If he only has $5000 to spend, he better keep saving because it's going to cost a hell of a lot more to do it over the right way the second time ;)
First off, start with an aftermarket block like a dart block.
Second, they do NOT burn oil and the whole myth about the pin going through the oil ring causing oil burning is all inexperienced internet bullshit.
Thats the airbag control module. Does your airbag lightbulb in the dash work? Could be something as simple as that or another problem within the system. Most people just pull the module out.
Use a steel braided line for the gauge feed line. Autometer makes one and it comes with all needed fittings. Get 6'. Use sealant on the pipe threads but not the an threads.
afr 185s and victor jrs will work very well. Seen a bunch of 450+ RWHP set ups with them on pump gas 347s. My old 347 had twisted wedges and they worked good on my 347.
