There is a mention of mobil 1 5w 30 oil. I only use 10w 40 mobil1 . The 5.0 in the fox body was not a 5w 30 oil engine. Too thin of oil can cause problems. Not sure if that is making any difference for you. Just a thought.

I had a 84 tempo with HSC. Low power engine. Don't know what it could be modified to. It would take a rebuild to do anything good.
