What the hell is this part???

Guys.........was messing with this part today and now I got an SES light............

What is its purpose.........seems now my rpms dont drop when I shift ( awesome ) but when Im off the gas, the car stumbles a bit.

Some insight from the guru's if possible...............

yikes............I thought it was the IAC. Went to clean it because I was having a little bit of a running problem when off the gas. Opened that sucker up and it was all spring loaded and damn if I could put it back the way it got fubar'd.

When you get the replacement TPS, is it already set? Im guessing if I am runnnig about 750rpms, thats where I should be............

yeah.. It sounds like it was pre set but if you cant run WOT than you might wanna adjust it yourself.. i dont know if its the same wires for a fox.. so i would help you out but i dont wanna give you wrong info..

Well.........I screwed up the spring loaded thingy with the points on it............thus, the SES. Mostly, the unit runs fine now and when I got on it yesterday, I loved the way the rpm's hung up rowing through the gears. I figure the TPS is another way Ford fcukks with performance to get better mpg.......I dont think I had a TPS on my '86 Capri 5.0

check it with a voltmeter it needs to be .97-.99 volts at idle.

and as close to 5.0 with out being 5.0 at WOT
