Hey guys. I have a 08 Procharged GT. Corsa exhaust and H pipe. I want to know what would be the best headers to get. Short - Long - chrome - ceramic - brand?
On the April issue of 5.0 Mustangs magazine there is a whole dyno test 4.6 header shootout. Maybe that may help. I'm clueless even after the whole reading
Im looking to do mine soon as well. From what ive heard Kooks is #1.
I would NOT recomend Shorties because you wont make nearly as much power as you would with Long Tubes. You will need a header specific mid pipe if you go LT's.
Since your FI, youd want to go the larger 1 3/4" primaries.
I would sya either Kooks or JBA. I just installed JBA Titanium coated L/T's on my car and everything fit very nice. The coating helps to keep the heat down.
Kooks or American Racing Headers. IMO, they are the best, hands down. When comparing DYNO graphs, they are nearly identical. However, if you choose to invest in their headers, you'll have to get their X-pipe as well, or custom weld your current midpipe with the headers.
BTW, I'd like to comment that your car looks good.

I had a friend come over and help me do the install. It went pretty good I think it took us about 8-9 hours but If I had to do it again it wouldn't take that long. As far as your cats go they wont work with L/T's I put on JBA's H-pipe with high flow cats.
I don't think it really matters in what brand you buy I really don't think there is a big power difference. I would just look into quality of craftsmanship. As far as short, mid, or long tube I always preferred long tubes and if you do go long you will also need a new h-pipe. I would defiantly them ceramic coated also.
I got mine from Jared at Lethal performance for 1165.00 shipped to my door. They are a sponsor on another site and they give you like 10% off when you mention that site's name.
The only things we had to take off was the motor mounts because I put new Steeda mounts on as should you if you get LT's. I also disconnected the steering shaft and removed the starter. If you have any other questions let me know!
Hate to do this to you guys but I have another question about O/R pipe and Catted pipes. Is there any big difference between them? I heard the only difference was O/R pipes are a bit louder and will not pass inspection. What do you guys think? Which would be better?
O/R is much louder and makes the exhaust note more mean and dirty sounding, it frees up 10 (-/+) horses, it also smells funny. My Flows drone enough on the highway, i wouldnt go O/R if you car is mostly for cruising car.
