Valve cover question for 2v guys.

Just wondering if it is a PIA the change the VC's, in particular the left side. Swithching to a set of BBK covers and it hasn't been fun

Yes driverside is a pain because of the master cylinder. I have a set of Team Breed covers for my car and I am scared to do it because it's such a PIA. Passengers is suppose to be easier once the air intake is off.

Simple i can swap both in an hour. First timers just take your time and all will be well. I have seen depending on the K-Member placment in the car you may have to remove the hydroboost unit. My car is one of those cars lol

Well, I don't want remove the hydro boost, then I have to rebleed everything. I'm at the point that I am taking the intake manifold off. Guess its time to go with a new intake manifold. Also, my 2v is in a fox, so its alot tighter. My BBK covers are also alot bulkier than the OEM covers.

In order to remove the hydroboost nothing has to be bleed. un bolt and lay over on the side. the master slides far enough forward to get the hydroboost unit off with all lines still connected. Now since you did a swap in a fox as long as you left yourself some room with the lines should work the same way as a sn-95

OK, Thats good too know...I was afraid I would have to disconect the lines. My only other worry is that I wont be able to get to the lower bolt on the firewall to get the booster back in place once the cover is on. I'll try that tomorrow. Although I found a good deal on a new intake and it seemed like a good excuse.

iv read that the intake manifold in are 2v's are good for more power than the bottom end can handle, that there is no reason to changeit inless making BIG power numbers and wanting to rev the engine higher than a stock engine can rev ... Just for the info

I got a new PI intake manifold with the metal crossover neck. I want to install it in place of my plastic one. I'm doing the valve covers and the manifold together.

I know, and have read that they can handle power...but its a PLASTIC manifold and it looks like CRAP under the hood. And people like to look under the hood of this car because its a mod motor in a fox

Apperance wise alone in a mod motor fox it needs a manifold lol. The stocker does handle power as mine is holding strong with over 700 at the tire and 20lbs of boost

Yes. Usually I am not about appearance, but it really dulls down the look on the 2v

I would be to one little puddle and plastic piece's everywhere

Gotcha just be careful with the bottom gasket on those since its a 2 piece I have seen the gasket blow out many times
