Upper and Lower intake

I am looking to purchase an upper and lower intake shortly and was curious to hear anyone opinion on what to buy or not to buy as for brands... any info will help in my decision

Trick flow intake flows one of the highest flow numbers. I currently have gt-40 tubular and am going to be running it to the edge.

trick flow track heat is great for cars well into the 10's
and the intake i have on my current car

highly suggested for any streetcar...boosted, spray, or motor

Unless you want the lope of a cam, it is a bit of a waste on a stock motor. I would save up for some decent heads and then put the cam in. Anyhow, TFS makes good intakes, but if you are looking for a budget intake get an explorer intake from a junkyard or on corral.net, should get 15 - 20 hp more from that. A few things need to be changed/added when you use the intake but getting that intake for 50 to 120 bucks and doing a little bit of work is better than spending 400 to 600 dollars on another intake, imo.

I found an excellent condition polished typhoon upper and lower for 275 obo.. any input on this one?

Ahh, I haven't really heard too much about it. It's a knock off the Edelbrock Performer, if you can check out the intake runners and if they are pretty clean, like not ridges or bumps inside from the casting process..

Thanks for the info... As you can tell I am still pretty new to all this Mustang stuff... Now if we were talking a chevy that i was going to pull the windows out and run in a derby i would know more but the windows wont ever be coming out of the fox... I guess i am looking for some quick things to pick up horses for this summer and over next winter go through the motor

Lol, no problem. I'm not sure what your budget is, but some full length subframe connectors would strengthen the body up quite a bit, short throw shifter, and some 3.73 gears would do nicely as first mods..

That intake works fine, it is a knock off of the RPM Edelbrock. My friend ran one on his 88 GT and it worked great, he just cleaned up the ports a little with a die grinder. A cam is pointless and a lot of added work (removing timing cover, etc.) for nothing more than sound. 1.7 Cobra rockers would be a better mod and gears like mentioned above. The intake is worth around 20hp. If you are still running the stock maf a larger one will be a slight gain as well.
