I have an AOD sitting around, should i have it built somewhere or just buy one built like D1 said? Will they require a core?

When switching from an AODE to an AOD how do i make it work? Isnt an AOD run off vacuum lines? Mine is considerable different, what do i do with the wiring etc? Will the B&M shifter i have work with the AOD? Will the deep transmission pan / gurdle i have on my AODE bolt up to the AOD?

Everyones help is VERY much appreciated

They made a C6 for small blocks as well. I had one in the Booger for a short time. They are a bullet proof tranny and require little mods to hold power. HOWEVER, they use tons of HP to run them and they are boat anchors. They weight twice as much as a C4 so that is why nobody uses them except for in trucks. I lost .5 seconds in et when I switched from a 5 speed to a C-6.

The AODE is stronger than the AOD so if you already have a modded one and you don't want to switch then just build it stronger. Nothing from your AODE will work on the AOD except maybe the shifter.The AODE and 4R70W share a lot of those things.

Pull the AODE and remove the harness and computer for it. Install the AOD and hook up a kick down cable and new lines. I think the driveshaft and crossmember are different though but not sure. That should work. :)
Oh, if the AOD has a vacuum modulator valve, just make sure you run a vacuum line to the engine somewhere where you get a good vacuum signal with RPM and load.

ok, so its relativley easey..... Im getting so many mixed signals from so many different people... Theres a guy on Coral that has an AODE that has no problem at all running 10's all day... Think i may run it with a new converter till i blow it then build the AODE....

Is there any company's out there that specializes in AODE's?
