Transmission Temp

All,

I have an automatic and i think its running hot. What temp does your transmission run at under normal driving and whats too hot???

I dont want to blow it up

I dont think I have a guage that tells the temp of the tranny. Do you have any mods done to it? IE: cooler, valve body, tourqe converter, dip pan?

Most ATF can withstand normal operating temperatures of around 200 degrees F for tens of thousands of miles. But if the temperature of the fluid rises above 220 degrees F the fluid starts to break down quickly. Above 300 degrees, fluid life is measured in hundreds, not thousands of miles. And above 400 degrees, the fluid can self- destruct in 20 to 30 minutes!

B&M external cooler, Fluidyne radiator, B&M Fluid, B&M deep pan / gurdle, manual valve body transmissions built too.

Is there air in the lines? How is the fluid level? Is there a kink in the line somewhere?

I checked all that and everything is a-ok.... Its still running hot though

Dosent look plugged to me.. I just hooked it all up when i did the radiator!!!

i honestly dont think the cooler is directional.. I hooked it up the same way it was hooked up before...
