Tool costs suck!!

I am getting my list of shot together so I know how much Cash I need for my mods.

I need a timing chain wedge tool and a valve spring compressor.

Just those two tools are gonna run me 450$. There has got to be cheaper ones. Wonder how much to have them installed? If it is cheaper I might just have Mustang Magic do the cams.


Also, I am guessing that I would need a phase limiter or cam lockout if I am going with a comp stage 2 cams.

Gregg are you still planning on the supercharger?If so wont you have to get blower cams?Why do cams twice,or am I wrong about this...which is a possibility

The cams I am getting are blower grinds, but can be used without also. I called Edelbrock and these are the ones they recommended.

Edelbrock S/C with Comp stage 2 VSR cams. Mac longtubes, prochamber, mac axle backs. If I can get a catted Prochamber the better, if not I will weld in some High flow cats.

That should bring me to around 485 or so. If I go with the gt500 fuel pumps, 61lb injectors,the tuned intake, then I can push 515-520 rwhp. But I don't want to push the stock internals. 485-500 is good enough for now.

485 to the ground? I thought that the stock internals were only good to 450......either way thats a ton of power. Are you going to do any suspension mods to keep you on the pavement?....or did you already do that?

I already have it dropped with eibach pro kit, gotta get a bumpsteer kit, and some LCA and throw in a set of 410's.

450 is a conservative number. If it splits, it splits. I should be back to work by then, so then I will do a full build.

Nice....sounds like your gonna have your hands full. Im dropping my car in Sept w/ som steeda ultra lites ...im just hoping that I dont leave my chin on a speed bump or pot hole.

^^^ you can get the cams installed cheaper. it takes less than 4 hours to do.

you only need the limiters if you go with the thumpr cams like i have. the other comp stage 2 is fine without them.

^^ no prob. id rather do my own work, but when it costs more to buy the tools than it does the cam set, ill gladly let someone else take care of it.

That's what I am talking about. I have no problem ripping into it, but to spend 400+$ on 2 tools I will only use once, is ridiculous.

I also prefer to do my own work, but sometimes it is more cost efficient to have someone do it. Also he can give me a tune for it.

i bought everything from brenspeed ( best cost ) they custom tune for free if you buy the stuff from them. so now if i buy more from them they send me a tune to make it work it was 100% on the money on the dyno
