car was ready for the streets with the t5....even more with the 4r70w(yup not an AOD).

wait did i just say that??? YUP, i put a modular tranny in it. stronger stock parts, lil more streetable, way more up to date then the 15+ year old AOD's

the new style 4r70w made around my criteria and Optishift box to control the shifts how i want em........with boost......and the car set up how i like it will DEFINATELY be fun on the streets

once this whole thing is done ill post some pics of the "finished project". once the tranny is done it will be finished till the winter(phase 3 is already being planned) im just gunna enjoy the car this summer

Nice! sounds really good. Hope the auto works out for you on the street! Its gotta be hard with the converter choice for street and future track car for sure. I hear its hard to get a converter for racing and still have street manners.... What stall did you go with? Something like 3200-3500?

fortunately the plan for this car was to be a street cruiser and not meant for track racing....im done with that for now, and have no aspirations to run any more NMRA(or grudge $ racing) events any time soon

so my choice was very easy...but you are right, track cars need a looser stall and street cars need a tigher stall so its tough to find something that works for both(unless u want a sloppy car and then its easy)

Yea a 4R70W is much better than the AOD-E those come with. Even the AOD-E is a step up though from the AO-DEAD lol. What did the auto swap cost roughly? I think if I went to a 4R70W I'd maybe swap a 96 F150 harness in my car so it would be completely obdII and control the trans from stock ecu, but thats more than I want to do. The Baumann stuff works and is easier to use anyways.

as for thwe whole swap its gunna be a big $....i built the 4r70w the right way, didnt cut corners on the converter, Bauman box wasnt cheap....just a stock shifter for now but ill go aftermarket in a month or two

hahahaha. oh yeah. btw, joey had tuned the tranny by playing with the shift points. I think there is a 3000 stall Pro-torque in mine.

ok so first impression.....
drives like a 250rwhp stock auto car when normal driving....but wakes up ALOT when u stand on it

will drive it casually this week and get some more mental data on it

LOL that's what makes it fun though. I remember my friends 93 LX had a small AFM cam and you could drive it like an old lady if you wanted but ran 10.80's at the track. I would love to get mine to be like that. We will see. Not looking good right now....
