Can someone explain the differences in Superchargers?

I am going to look for a unit to install on my 306 with 9.5 / 1 CR. it has a cam ground for boost and or juice and i was going to install this big shot NOS system and it just got shot down so i think im going to sell it all and buy a s/c.

Can someone tell me what brands are best for the 5.0's and what to look for when buying one. I would like to get a used complete setup on ebay or soemthing just because its much more cost effective and i dont want to throw another 7G's at it!! LOL

I have never seen anyone use the KB on an SN95 5.0... I would liek to read reviews and see setups w/ results before i just purchase soemthing

Check out this months muscle mustangs fast fords. Article budget boost bonanza page 70. Started with 309 hp ended up with 405.hp. Used a vortech V-3 sci it costs under $2000. You have same compression ratio as me. I asked question on another stang site about max boost with 9.4:1 cr. I was told 8-10 psi non intercooled max with tune would be safe. Im not sure how true that is maybe someone will chime in that has more boost experience.

Thanks Kevin. What other mods would I need to run a supercharger like that? I have a 255LPH pump and 30lb injectors now. If I drop 2K I know I'm going to need a tune but will I need other mods?

They had 255 lph and vortech t-rex external pump. Those numbers in my last post 309 to 405 were wheel horse power. Article also says the stock block is limited to around 440-450 rwhp.

Procharger FTW! Kenne Bells run out of air too fast IMO but they have a following of fanatics that will try to convince you that a K/B is the greatest thing ever developed. Well, it is if you want a mild mannered street car with some extra zip at the track. Joel Kasmirzak (01badss) has a procharger F-1 on his 363 stroker Mustang. He can daily drive this car and runs 9.80's at the track with drag radials. Just ask him for his advice!! And Mike Eames in his F-1D? 4V mod powered mustang runs 9.13 @ 149 with D/R's and he can daily drive that car as well. #30 lb injectors may be a little on the light side but I'm not an expert on that.
Stock block with a valley gridle and main girdle should be safe to 450 rwhp.

I was going to say procharger too. I was looking into the Kenne-Bell systems and they look to be way to much money. I have only seen a few on the 94-95 5.0's. I am not to sure about numbers. I would say with your setup go with procharger and I think it come's with everything you may need.

Go with the PRO-CHARGER...Is the motor built ??? You can run some serious BOOST through the motor then...19+ lbs They have a cog belt set-up... Get that nice supercharger whistle...Probably put you in the 700+ HP range...:3gears:
