Yes we have another project going on. This car was purchased by my Dad about 2 months ago as a project. It is an original 1923 chassis that has been modified and has an aftermarket fiberglass body. It came with a 400ci SBC in front of a TH-350 trans.
The 1st order of business was to pull the bastard powertrain and sell it.
This car is getting a 100% makeover and will be very uniqe. The stipulations on his project are as follows. If anything on this car is half assed it won't see the light of day. It will also be unique as so it's not just passed by at shows as another small block whatever T-bucket.
I can't wait to really dive in on this build.
The engine is already on the stand and is a 2003 4.6L DOHC engine out of a Mach 1. It also features an 8 bolt Cobra crank. Because this car is going to be capable of cross country touring it will be geared with a nice highway gear and the shifting duties will be tasked by a custom built C-4 with a stage 2 shift kit, 2,500 stall convertor, billet servo and PA bellhousing.
The engine will not be fuel injected per the customes request of a nice clean hotrod look. It will be topped by a sullivan 4150 intake manifold, Pro-Systems custom carb and all the goodies. An MSD Mod6 will be the brain of the operation using the factory crank and cam sensors to trigger the coil pack ignition.
I'll keep updating as I go. Right now I'm just waiting for the trans to show up so I can start mocking things up.
