Prochargers

I am interested in the Procharger. Anyone have recent experience with them? They seem to make decent power and look well designed. Also, it looks like it will fit under my Bullitt's strut bar.And what a whistle! Actually, I also heard of numerous oil seal failures on the head units. Is this still an issue with the current crop of Prochargers?

My procharger did develop a leak. Had it fixed a few years ago. I check the level regulatory. With the intercooler is a good system. Its not the new model. Its 10 years old.

Had mine since 07 w/ 65k or so on it.

I just installed one on my friends 07.

He put down 460 @10 lbs. on a very safe tune. (stock block)

issues I had:

1. The strut bar does not fit, not even the gt500. Hits the air filter
2. The eibach front sway bar cannot be used, it hits the crank pulley, have to use the stock swaybar.

Other than those 2, nothing major with the install.


As with any power adderm it all depends on what type of power you are looking for. Do you want instant torque? if so look into a positive displacement supercharger (the ones that sit on top of the manifold). Do you want progressive power? then you would be interested in a centrifugal supercharger, (procharger, paxton, vortech...).

Then there is turbo, but that is a different animal all together.

Well, I had the Procharger H.O. unit installed by Dez Racing in MA. They did a great job. Very neat work & nice people. The car developed 456 RWHP and 412 RWTQ on a conservative tune (stock bottom end). The helical gearset preserved the whistle and got rid of the gear rattle of the straight cut version. Also, the intake tube/filter fit under my Bullitt strut tower brace with no problem. I installed the Autometer cobalt wideband A/F and boost gauges in a SOS "A" pillar gauge pod. We're having some fun now!

If you are still interested, I bought my proc in 2010. Jdm tuned it and it puts down 509rwhp on stock block.

Love the sound and the car moves well with the 4.10s

I had to change my outer seal last summer. Its avail from NAPA & is under $10. VERY easy to do, took me about an hour and a half from start to finish. Actual seal replacement takes about 5 min.

ProCharger tech guy told me to expect rebuild about 150K.

I have the p1sc and it's been great had upgraded to a sct ba 2600 and John Lund racing took care of the tuning and I am very happy with his customer service its top notch
