hey guys..friend just told me about these transmissions, wondering if anyone has experience in them? seems like a better idea then a tko,

and on a seperate note...can you use straight cut gears for drag racing? a few guys have them around me and the idea of not having to use the clutch all the way sounds awesome.

never heard of pro motion, I would stay away from the tremecs, Ive heard they shift like shit. Check out G force they build some good t5s that can handle alot of power, If I keep a ford motor in my car thats what im going with

x2 G force T-5 is the way to go for a 5 speed drag racing tranny tko's are good for a street car with regular tires. your askin for trouble once you put slicks on.

Ive been beating on my Tremec 3550 for over 13 years now. 500+ quarter mile passes and thousands of street miles and no trouble so far.

well im looking to put down 600 to the tire so im pretty sure id break a 3550 to pieces...and the tremecs suck with the clutch i have (centerforce dual friction) so im looking for a way around buying a new clutch and pressure plate too. i called pro motion today and i should get a call back tomarrow and see..im gunna call Gforce tomarrow and see what they have for me

??? I have a centerforce clutch and the car shifts fine. But the power youre looking to make would break it. Im waiting for mine to go. I really like the Astro t-5. Looks like it would be perfect for me.

astro? i havent herd of them im going to check it out....the guy i talked to said the gforce t5 would break and i should go with a t56...but its sooo expensive and has less of an overdrive then the 5 speed...which to me defeats the point of a 6 speed. and i tried a few diff kinds of fluid..even the synchromesh that they recommend but it was still like hitting a brick wall when i shifted

G force sells several iterations of the T-5 for different applications and power levels. I don't think it would be necessary to send it anywhere after you buy it. I knew a guy who had one who dragged raced there car regularly and his car made well over 500hp and he made plenty of 9 sec passes in this car.

i talked to g force and they said they cant garuntee that the trans will hold up too 600whp. i also talked to liberty about cryo treating the gears and they also wont garuntee that the t5 will hold up...they recommended a face plated tko 600 which is actually cheaper then the t5...so most likely thats what ill go with..im sure the t5 would be ok all motor but i dont want to hit the nitrous once and loose 2500 bucks
