Well, my swap of the 04 PCM into my 95 Cougar is complete (Thanks again for the tach adapter Mike {MineralGray02K}), and the car seems to run good. Just have a few codes that I haven't been able to get rid of. P0193 (Rail Pressure Sensor), P0443 (Evap purge ctrl valve), P1233 (Fuel system disabled/offline) & P0462 (Fuel level sensor ckt).
I've turned off everything I can find related to the fuel pressure sensor, but it's still complaining. I plan on adding it in once I have a way to connect it to the fuel rail, but at the moment, I don't have a way to attach it to my stock fuel rail.
I've got the evap canister purge valve connected (ckt 101), and in Advantage, there are two "Canister Purge Switch" lines, and I've set them both to "0", but it's still throwing the P0443. What would happen if I have the evap system all hooked up, but turned off or non-functioning?
The P1233 is likely there because I don't have a FPDM running my fuel pump. Since the PCM apparently can only output a PWM signal that can be interpreted by a FPDM, I've done what I think you guys do when you remove the FPDM for really high flow pumps and grounded the CCRM input so when the key's on, the pump's on. But how do you get rid of the code?
I can't find anything repated to P0462.
Any thoughts on how to get rid of these codes?
The only other thing I've noticed is upon startup, idle is high (1400 RPM or so), and it gradually drops to 800 or so. I think it's normal, as I believe my wife's 01 3.8L Mustang seems to do the same thing, but in case there's something i should look for, figured I'd post it up.
