It came up to be the transmission temperature sensor and I need to get the oil change for it since they are dropping the pan and replacing the gasket also. Anyone know how much those sensors usually cost?

From what it looks like the speed sensor also handles the temperature which seems a bit awkward or at least that's what I was just told by Ford... It's $26 dollars!

so I have to replace two sensors? The guy said the temp sensor is 35 bucks and the total would be around 200 bucks.

not too bad factoring in the cost of the part, all that tranny fluid thats going in and a little labor.

Just do what he says!! The sensor I am talking about is the same he is talking about..

That price is really not bad at all considering he is doing a tranny flush too... I say go for it!!

PS - Sounds like he is giving you a fair value not trying to pull one over on you..

+1, go for it, it's worth it, especially if you don't have a garage. I'd rather pay the extra $100 or so as opposed to messing around in the cold!

Mine does the same thing Cosmin. Started right after I install my SCT Tune the first time. Does it very intermittently, ever few months. I never payed too much attention to it because my tranny never felt or sounded bad. Good to know what it is now.

Yea he said it's weird it went bad bc they rarely do. He said I can drive it just not on the highway or long trips
