need new hydraulic lifters?

i started tearing my engine down for the H/C/I swap and my buddy said i might need new hydraulic lifters. Is this true?

are they mushy or hard?

no idea to be honest, havent taken them out yet. i wasnt sure if i need new ones with a new cam and stuff.

when i pull them out anything to check specifically?

if they are mushy and soft, they r shot or they r starving for oil pressure

If you need a set of roller lifters, I have a brand new set I was planning on using for a 5.0 build, but I sold the car. Genuine Ford parts, No aftermarket BS. $100 OBO

If they haven't given you any problems then there is no need to replace them. The nice thing about hyd., roller lifters is that you don't have to change them just because you are changing the cam. Give them a look over while you have them out. Look for signs of wear, check to make sure the rolloers roll smooth and keep them soaked in fresh oil until you are readu to put them back in. Don't let minor scuffs on the sides of the lifter body scare you away, its normal.

sounds good ill check it out and see how they look tomorrow... I think the cam might be going in tomorrow
