Need Help again

ok well here is the story. I fixed the Solenoid Switch, and the damn thing starts fine now, and i also put new plugs in it but the engine still was acting up and the crank pulley was making noise. so i took it for a short drive and lost, power steering, amperage, and oil pressure, also started to overheat. so i got it back home and it was boiling and still running, but the crank pulley or any other pulley was not turning. i can actually take the crank pulley and wobble it alot, and i don't think that that is a good thing. also now the antifreeze is rust colored now and oil is leaking from the oil pan even worse than it was before. i just hope i didn't mess up the engine so bad it's not repairable. Please, Any feedback would be outstanding.:mad::(

i'm at a loss, and only hoping i didn't Flub up the engine beyond repair or that it costs so much to repair i just say screw it and get rid of it

Well after letting the car cool down for a bit and looking in the overflow for the radiator, it is only the overflow that has rust colored antifreeze in it, after re-filling the radiator the water is still a clear green. so i think that's a good sign. Or i should say i hope that's a good sign. but the oil pan gasket needs to be replaced (has been since i got it), and what ever is wrong with the pulley. that would explain the car acting up like it's losing cylinders and shaking, so i'm hoping that it's the bearing for the pulley or the whole pulley with bearing, and not the whole crankshaft and all. but please more feedback if any one knows anything.

buy a mac underdive set and try that

I would say that the crank pulley is the root of the problem, are the bolts for the crank pulley and the bolt for the harmonic balancer tight?? if so is the belt tight?? p/s, alternator, and the water pump are all run off the belt(crank) so if the pulley is loose and the belt slips viola!! everything stops working

well thats just the thing the engine still runs, but the belt doesn't turn, and yes the crank pulley or harmonic balancer is loose as a goose, i didn't try the bolts but the damn thin isn't supposed to turn with the engine off is it, i can turn the belt by hand with little effort.

check to make sure all of the pulley bolts are there, especially the big one that threads into the crank.... but it sounds like you have bigger problems than that if you lost oil pressure

when you say you lost oil pressure? thats not an electric autometer oil gauge is it?? so say you lost your alternator (from the loose belt/pulley whatever) and anything it supplies with electric?

I'm with you something isnt right with balancer to crankshaft attachment. If its not turning when the engine is running its not attached properly or at all. Smart thing to do is take it to a shop or a buddy thats a good wrench. If your mechanicly inclined a bit by a hanes or chilton manual and take it apart see whats wrong. Those book show what the part looks like when its good.

If you give up you can give me the car. lol. Sounds like it might not be too bad. If the dampner is bad that can cause the engine to vibrate quite a bit. Good luck my friend.

well the reason i lost oil pressure is because of the gasket for the oil pan, that needed to be replaced since i got the car, now that everything went haywire it's worse, but the engine runs great, it just shakes really bad, and the pulleys dont turn, but they turn by hand. like you all said it might just be a loose pulley, and that's all i'm hoping it is. oh and another question if that pulley is loose would that make the engine jump time by a tooth or more or not?

a bad oil pan gasket will not affect oil pressure, the pulleys wont affect the timing either. Check your balancer its probably shot. that would cause the motor to shake

A bad oil pan gasket will effect the oil pressure when the damn oil is leaking out of the seal, i saw a trail of oil about a foot wide on the wet road all the way from my fathers corner the three houses down to my driveway and in. and as for the put the tools down and step away remark, WHY? what is wrong? I have always done all of my own mechanic work and have kept the car before this one running for 4 years. i am new to mustangs and the 302 so please don't criticize me and help me out.

sorry, you did not say the car ran out of oil you said you lost oil pressure, indicating you were looking at the gauge. I guess we need to ask more detailed questions. A normal leaky oil pan gasket or pretty much non-existing one will not affect oil pressure even if there is one quart of oil left in the engine.

yeah sorry, it's my fault, i need to be more detailed in my explanations. sorry that one guy telling me to step away lit my fuse, didn't mean to sound like a dick either.
