my stang vs stock z28

heres the deal i have a 1990 stang with e 303 cam full exhuast from headers back 5 speed short throw diffent spark plugs (didnt get around to a tune up) and bad valve tap on bone stock heads
vs a stock z28 camaro like a 94 i thin k and its auto do i have a chance?

I want to say no...even though its an LT1, not a LS1, they still put out 275 hp. Do you have stock gears?

3:73's and a GOOD driver and it will be close but you should get him.

You need a couple more mods before you could feel good about lining up with that car but hey if you have a good driver mod anything can happen

Good tires ,traction always helps too! If that Z28 is bone stock then the auto robs some power and I'm sure is a slush box like ours.

careful- Chevies autos arent as shitastic as fords are. they run pretty hard for stock- LT1 cars give 99+ GT's a run for their money

My friend has an LT1 in his '94 Camaro and it ran low 13's pretty much stock (cai and exhaust). My car with h/c/i and gears only ran 13.7.

OP- Back in my highschool days, I had my 94Gt and a friend had a 94Z28, both autos with minimal mods. I had a BBK intake, March U/D's, an exhaust and a shift kit, he had intake exhaust. Id beat him all the time from a dig, and just cruising from a roll. The LT1's arent that great of a motor. If it were a LS car, it would be a totally different story..

I've seen them run pretty quick, most stock are 13.8-14.4 with auto. I ran 13.80@100 with my 93 GT when it had minor mods and only 3.27 gears. BUT, the E303 cam on stock motor is going to cost you some plus if you have valve train noise. I think you are going to get beat personally if the LT1 is in good running condition.
