Trying to come up with last minute things to get this car drive-able for this coming Monday!
I need to get the crappy hood to fit somehow (cutting involved) and to fix my large exhaust leak at the passenger header to down pipe.
Im also wondering if the car's coolant system has purged well? Does anyone know a good way to help "burp" the system?

Well i got the car timed and slapped my cheap beat up hood on it. The hood doesn't fit well and needed to be trimmed to fit (the the intake). Ive been driving it since Saturday.
Drove pretty good for the weekend, had a small coolant leak at the thermostat housing but tightened it up. Rear main seal is already weeping and i replaced it (seems like they always leak!?) The car also stalls out when coasting to a stop or down shift to a stop when you let the rpms down fast, if you ease them down it stays idling.
Picked up a buck/fishbite problem yesterday. Very intermittent, at cruise or acceleration. I swapped out the plug wires and found that one on the drivers rear was hitting the header and burning a hole in it. Since then it hasnt done this again.
I checked the tps sensor out yesterday, it read .42 volts. So i ovaled it out until i got it to .99 volts. The cars idle fluctuates a bit, i had a suggestion to replace the IAC, which im going to save up for a genuine one off of Rock Auto.
I was loving driving this car the past few days! Still some salt residue on the roads here so since the rain is coming again its been parked for now. My brother has a new video of a cruise when it had the bucking/fishbite issue so hopefully he will get that uploaded soon.

Is it the rear main seal or a valve cover leaking? Mine looked like the rms went bad, but after looking closer I have a small leak from my valve cover, and now that damn low oil sending unit is leaking slightly where it threads into the oil pan.
You might want to consider a tune. So the bucking is gone? Mine bucks at low speed with no load on the engine, but that's due to the cam. The tps sensor should read around .95 - .99 volts at idle. Mine sometimes surges at idle and other times it idles fine for the most part. I'm hoping to get mine tuned next month to fix a few small problems like that.

I had to turn the butterfly set screw a bit in order for me to get my TPS sensor to read .99v even with rounding out the holes, ive read that adjusting the TPS to this value is not necessary? It just needs to be between something like .5v-1.2v, but i did it anyway. At WOT my TPS reads 4.64v, i also read it should reach 4.81v. Then i saw that as long as its over 2.71v WOT its ok.
Im going to test/clean my IAC if it passes the tests im going to do a base idle reset procedure to try and get the idle smoother.
The bucking is gone now, but with the fluctuating idle you can feel it when cruising on light throttle. The cars almost feels a tad bit hesitanty/surgy, but as soon as you get into it nothing.
Im gonna let the rain hit for the next few days, starting this weekend i may start driving it 24/7, just want to make sure the salt residue is gone.
Here is a quick ride aorund the block from the other day. My brother made this video with his Drift Ghost HD camera. The sound of the car is faint, and the wind is loud. We haven't figured out all the tricks with the camera yet. This video was to show a few points where the car was bucking/fish biting, which has since been fixed.
If anyone has any experience with this camera let me know how to fix this, thanks!

Im now encountering some lopey idle, and some cruising issues in the car. Im going to pick up a new IAC today, i did a few tests on mine (not sure if these are good tests?) and it failed one. So im going to replace it and do a base idle reset. Otherwise the car runs awesome! Still going easy on it due to the new clutch. Cant afford a tune yet, but it will get one in the near future. I need to weed out all these little issues first.

Well i replaced the IAC and followed the directions for a base idle reset. The car is A LOT better now. Idle is not "hunting" as much, and its smoother to drive at cruise/easy driving speeds. BUT, its not perfect. Still has a few moments where it is not perfectly smooth, and its a little surgy at cruise. Looking into other fixes...
Yeah fixing that kind of stuff now will be better for when you do get a tune. Sometimes after my car runs a bit then shut it off, and start it again, the idle will surge from like 400 to 1200 rpms for a minute or two then it will straighten out and idle between 850 and 900. A few weeks ago, my friend's parents thought I was revving my car up when I left one night, lol, my friend told them it would be really loud if I was revving it and that the idle surges sometimes. I'm looking to get mine tuned next month.
