yeah I did not install it yet I noticed it when I took it out of the box... I contacted the guy who sold it to me so lets see what he says... also I am trying to contact pro 5.0 to see what they say... I cant stand when people say things are in great condition and all of a sudden you have a useless paper weight!! if anyone knows if you can just put in a new spring let me know please...
I once had a Steeda Tri-Ax that needed springs. I contacted Steeda and they wanted me to send them the shifter to install new spring themselves. I insisted they just sell me two springs so I could do it. Its 4 screws and 5 minutes of work. Told them I need to race that weekend and couldn't have the car down that long. After 45 minutes on the phone they took my address and sent me 2 springs(no charge). Swapped them in and good as new.
I would say if you don't have any luck with Pro-5.0. Just go to your local hardware store, go to their nut and bolt section and match up a set of springs to the existing spring you have now. That should at least get your shifter installed. It's also a good opportunity to get some fresh grease in it as well.
Good Luck, let us know how you made out.
