The other day I noticed some coolant leaking out of the overflow next to where the heater core was and could smell coolant burning. The next day the heater worked just fine, but today the windshield never defogged. The carpet was wet too from the coolant and the smell was bad. So I ordered a heater core at autozone and this weekend I'll be tackling this monotonous chore of replacing the heater core with the help of my dad. I've been looking up at various websites and magazines to see what needs to be done. The guys in mustang monthly took 10 hours to change it so I can only imagine what it will take us. If anyone has done this before, is their anything in particular that could help me replace the heater core? From what I've read there's a lot of screws to remove, and the a/c may or may not need to be discharged. But if you don't discharge it, there's not much room to separate the case from the firewall. I probably won't be able to start until maybe tonight or Friday and then use the whole weekend to change it. So if there's any pointers, I'm all ears. Wish me luck!! :nono:
