head gasket cost difference

Whats the deal here!!! If I order from tousley ford or anywhere for that matter, the left is $94 and the right is $85. But frpp sells a head changing kit that includes both head gaskets and the TTY bolts for a whopping $75 shipped.

Am I missing something here, they are both oem but makes no sense to me why the kit with extras is less than just one gasket.

Things like that are common with Ford Racing. Last I checked the exact same Ford 3.73 gears that you can get through Ford Racing for less than $200 are $400 from the dealer.

The Ford dealers could afford to give away every single car at cost if you came back to them for the service and the parts. That is where the money is for them. Ford Racing is an entirely different division of Ford. Sometimes they find a way to bypass 2 different levels of warehousing and price markups to give you parts for less $$.

Thanks. I was second guessing myself on the purchase. I was thinking that it might be for just one side and not both.

I would like to see them make a complete gasket set, instead of having to hunt down part numbers and search for crap.
