FRPP Hot Rod Cam

I have an 07 GT with the FRPP Cold Air Kit. Installation required a computer re-flash, which was included with the kit. I am seriously considering purchasing the new FRPP Hot Rod Cam. It too requires a "tune" after the cam install. Unlike the cold air kit, there is no tune that comes with the purchase of the cam. I am having a hard time finding what tune is required to buy and where; that is compatible with what I already have installed. I am definitely a novice, so any info would be appreciated.

You will most probably require a custom Dyno tune.

I am in a rural area, don't know of any tuners. Close to Syracuse/Utica.

I believe Tillman Speed sells canned tunes for FRPP HOTROD cams, google them and give em a quick call. Brenspeed only sells COMP cams, im not sure that they do a canned tune for FRPP's.

ive heard that you actually lose power with FRPP cams, im gonna look into that first so dont take my word for it

You def gain power but you lose a lil torque at the very down low because the idle is so chopy and tends to bounce, A set of 4:10 gears will remedy that.

I hear the gains are nice and it sounds awesome! you can get more Power out of COMP cams, but you have to lock out the "VVT", the FRPP cams retain that feature and you dont have to change anything else in the heads. Who doesnt like a lil better gas milage?

You would need a custom Dyno tune or a email tune from bama.... You lose low end torque but pick up mid to high end.. It is reccomended to have 4:10s with them...

Just took it out of storage today. 4.10's are going in Monday, I'll keep you posted on the cams as I am still researching and trying to make a decision.

Now that the car is out, I will post some pics soon. Can't wait for weather to put the top down!

Good Luck, I did Stage II Comp Cams on My 05 before I blew up the Motor lol and love them
