Shaking shit is really the only way to find an exhaust rattle. I have resorted to kicking tailpipes and using the rubber mallet to find rattles.

Sometimes I actually cause rattles.

And Jose, Get your digital camera and set it on video, I did on my sony dsc-t70 and that thing is 2 years old.

I have been shaking it. I think that it is coming from behind the rear axle so that's why I think that it is one of the hangers. But it happens when I'm at a red light and I sit there but not always which is why I'm confused. If the baffle like you said broke loose it would be ratteling around all the time, but it doesn't. So I don't think that it would be that. When I have it turned on and sit in the driveway the idle is at about 500 RPM which is where it was when I got it and it doesn't rattle so I let it sit and it still doesn't rattle but then it starts to rattle all of the sudden so I go to the end and check to see where it looks like the rattle starts from. Sometimes it lasts a while and other times it doesn't. It didn't rattle when I had it installed but like 3 weeks afterwards it started. I'm going to go and check it again to see if I can get it to rattle.

hahahaha i think i know what it is, your frpp cut outs they are hitting against the muffler, i say its that becausei have to trim a little bit more of my bumper because once in awhile i get a small rattle on the driver side lol

Nope theres a gap between the FRPP cutouts and the exhaust tips. That's what I thought at first but found out to my dissmay that's not the problem. Well I went out again and ran it for 10 min. and nothing no rattle or shake. I then take it for a drive and on the way back it rattles so I back into my driveway and it is still kind of rattleing so I hold the muffler and it still rattles but I put a little bit of pressure on it and it stops. I think that the left side is not hung properly or something. Does this make any sence. Jose I told yu that I couldn't make it on Sunday and I think you were :thread jacked: by me. Sorry.

When can you bring it by ? If its bolted we can put some lock thread on it thats what i did. Ask waldo HOW MUCH LOCK THREAD I put on the bolts

hahaha! those bolts are NEVER, EVER coming out :). This guy bathed the bolts in RED threadlock...crazy mo'fo' :D:D:D


Ford20, check the hangers themselves (the ones welded to the mufflers not the rubber mount that goes into the chassis) Maybe the weld on the muffler broke and it is shaking and hitting the muffler

Get under the car and check that they are still welded to the muffler

I might get mufflers to replace the stock ones i put on but no time soon maybe for Christmas

You... Good luck. Just seeing the stock mufflers annoys the hell outta me, wayyyyy too much sound muffling and restriction

LOL I believe you, I think he's going to have to get the sawzall to get his exhaust out with all that threadlock. I have checked all the welds on the hangers and they are still welded. I tightened all of the clamps but not for the hangers so maybe that is it. I have a strong inclination that it is the hangers or the idle is causing them to rattle but can't figure out why?

A Auto V6 is the Anti-Mustang but a manual V6 Mustang is a little bit better.

I figured out what was causing the rattling. If you look at my crudely, crudely drawn picture the hanger stem (don't know what's it called) is either too long or the exhaust isn't all the way in and well it is hitting against the bumper mount or something on the rear bumper not sure what. So what I would have to do is cut it a little bit but the problem is that I think it is stainless steel. Cutting stainless steel is kind of hard to do and all I need is to take off a little bit.

Well your ANTI-MUSTANG is going to get all messed up going through a wall. That's a bad idea.

you have to readjust it by the x-pipe you might want to check the clamp on the xpipe also thats the only way it would move back , Are you going tomorrow to the belmont show ?
