Sales of the Ford Mustang continued their slowdown in September with just customers buying up just 4,420 units last month. While that number represents the closest sales have come to matching last year’s figures, falling short by just .4 percent, it’s still the ninth straight month for a year-over-year sales decrease. Overall Ford Mustang sales have reached 59,165 for the year, down 11.5 percent compared to the 66,821 units sold at this same time last year.
General Ford Motor Company sales remain strong, as the company had their 11th consecutive year-over-year sales increase and their best September sales month since 2006. A 62 percent increase in Ford Fusion sales and a 29 percent increase Fiesta purchases helped Ford boost their numbers by 6 percent compared to a year ago. The F-Series also remained strong, posting its 26th straight monthly sales increase with a 10 percent gain.
