Engine paint scheme ?

Well I've been waiting for my heads to ship I've been thinking about how to paint the engine. My seats have a white center w/black sides and I was thinking about carrying that into the engine bay.

White TC cover & intake / black heads & valve covers.

Now for the questions ...

1) Do you think that much white on an engine will look cob?

2) What color to paint the block?


For the block, I was thinking the dark Ford blue like on BKD198221's intake. I just can't picture an image of what the blue/white/black combination would look like.

Any thoughts?

You will shoot yourself for painting anything on the engine white...unless you like cleaning it every time you drive it.....

lol. I never even put together the blue/white Shelby connection. :smash:

And the blue/black does fit Jen. That's why I thought of the darker Ford blue for the block.


As far as a cleaning issue, it's not a DD and I could hit the engine bay with an air hose after each ride. Detail it maybe 2 or 3 times during the season.

I still can't draw a picture of what it'll look like. I've even tried Google for all variants for white on an engine, nothing useful yet. So it would definitely be unique.

Maybe I'll PM 97NYstanGT see if he can photo shop me something.
