dead battery???

All.. i went out today to put my battery tender on my 05 gt and discovered the battery stone dead. I mean STONE dead. I checked the lights and they weren't left on. I checked other things and saw nothing out of sorts. I have had NO issues in driving season with this. It sits for sometime weeks between drives and has never failed to start. Any ideas out there???

I have had this problem for 3 years on my 07. Replaced the battery 4 times already and still the same thing. Mine goes dead after 3 or 4 days. The news is that the amps fpr the shaker stay on so you have to shut the radio off before the car. I did a drain test and was within norm. Sorry I can't help. This is a problem that many s197 owners are having. I am looking for an answer also.

why dont u just install a master disconect switch?

if u have a dead battery from nothing u might have a something staying on... put a voltmeter on the battery on the positive side and the other lead on the chasis and start pulling fuses till the voltmeter drops once it drops u know that is whats staying on and go from there... check your grounds and also if u have a stand alone computer check your grounds there

I've never experienced this problem with my Mustang but I've heard about it from alot of fellow Mustangers. Apparently, the car draws milliamps while sitting and there is no fix for it. People I know have been in touch with dealerships and Ford directly but they won't admit there's a problem with either the battery or electrical system. The fix seems to be.....replace your battery with either a DieHard or Optima.

Keep a battery tender on it when not useing the car... 1/2AMP

The tender works. But there is no reason it should be dead after a few days. I am going to get an optima yellow top or a marine deep cycle

I don't know what is going on. After the battery was somewhat charged enough to turn the key on, the radio was on and i turned it off. The battery then came to a full charge quickly. From now on, if i remember, i'm going to turn the radio off when i turn the car off. I've never done this before, but i really don't know if it's really a problem with the radio or boom box in the trunk (1000 watt system), it just seems the battery charged fully when i turned the radio off.:smash:

That is what I heard, the stock amps stay on if you leave the radio on then turn off the car.

I have tried it, but it still shits the bed. Good luck.

My battery always died until I started turning the radio off before shutting the engine off.Havent had a problem since then,still have the original battery

I'm going to try taking the battery tender off the battery and see if it goes dead again, only this time with the radio turned off. I never had a problem before and always left the radio on when i turned the car off. But, then again, electric gremlins may show up at ANY time!!
