COLD AIR INDUCTION _ question

I think this is probably the first mod everyone does. I also would say it's one of the least effective considering $ to hp return. But if you could get a tuner packaged with it (SCT) from American Muscle with a 93 octane tune your talking more power. $700.00 bucks though. Any future parts you get from them later and they'll update your tune for free. You don't necessarily need a tune for a cold air though.
Back to the TUNE MODS.
Installed the cold air intake YESTERDAY. (Car is at rest until tune arrives tomorrow)
Question:
I am running 89 OCTANE on my mustang now, it has a full tank, I installed the cold air intake and I am waiting for the SCT tuner sometime tomorrow April 05. SCT will come with 89 and 93 tuning
How should I proceed with the tuning? do a 89 OCTANE first, empty the tank, fill up with 93 and then re-tune with SCT 93 OCTANE? Does that really matter?
Someone told me that it does and I can get some detonation if I install the 93 with 89 octane? Is this right?
I appreciate an advice on this.

I had a 87 OCT tune from SCT and STEEDA cold air intake. Great difference between STOCK and the above.
I purchased a 93 SCT tune and installed, NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL from the 87 OCT TUNE on the 5.0 GT 2011. WHY, is it normal on the 5.0 not to be noticeable at normal driving?
Also I wonder, I am back to 87 OCT SCT tune, should I continue using 93 OCTANE gas or go back to 87 or 89 octane gasoline?
Also In case I continue to use 93 OCT gas, should I just re-program with SCT 93 TUNE? would that help in anyway (mileage, engine, etc.) or it is not worth it, even if I am not feeling any difference from the 87 tune to the 93 tune...

You should notice a difference in the 93 octane tune for sure. I know some people had to run more than one tank of gas through it to get the computer to full advance the timing. 93 is a must for the full performance potential of this car. Who did the tune?? If you are just using the SCT tunes you are REALLY leaving a lot on the table.
Maybe running a couple of 93 oct gas tanks may be the case,
I am back to the 93 tune as of this afternoon, just filled-up with 93 again and will do a trip burning about two tanks on Friday to see if any difference.
SCT X3 custom tune by STEEDA. I know in fact that they ordered through SCT, I tracked the tuner until it arrived in FL, STEEDA Headquarters and then STEEDA programmed it and shipped to me. I was told it is not a canned SCT, I will call them tomorrow and ask it once again if it is a custom tune really.
