Clutch pops

so i have an 86 lx with i think a non world class t5, and probably stock clutch.. it grinds going into 2nd gear hard but otherwise shifts fine... the clutch whistles when not engaged but if you just slightly press the pedal (not even going in deep enough to engage clutch) it stops whistling... But then when the pedal is depressed enough to engage the clutch it pops, feels a lot like popping your knuckles or what not on the pedal, every time the pedal is depressed and released it pops, the sound seems to come from the pedal itself... but im not sure whats wrong lol.

Sounds like a few things. The throw out bearing is bad for one. The other noise is probably either the cable in the fork or the cable where it attaches in the quadrant. Is it all stock stuff? Get under and look at it. The gear grind is synchro damage.

Dave88GT has a whole setup for $500. I would jump on it quick cuz you need a transmission!!
