car lags. .induction maybe?

Car had a 750 wouldn't stay on now its got a 870 and its better but wen I hit it doesn't have that reaction it should n still turns off everynow and then wen its not gettin gas do I still need 2 go bigger or wat plezz help ?!

Hey man,

I know quite a bit about Carb cars. If it's the engine in your pic albums, then first off, Your carb is way too big. You shouldn't be running anything over a 650 on a 306, unless you want nothing but max hp at 5000-7500 RPM's. I don't think you are going to be spinning that motor like that all day long though. Depending on your cam and heads, you'll be much happier with a 650 Speed demon or Mighty demon vacuum secondaries. For the mean time, it simply sounds like a vacuum leak or your carb is not set up properly, or both. For now, put the 750 back on or get a 650 and check ALL vacuum hoses and plugs. Set the carb up well and you will get that nice snappy torquey thottle response your looking for. I could help a little more with some better info on the car. Best of luck.

Its a 306 stage 3 hydraulic roller cam don't kno the specs though and gt40 heads tha have been ported from da previous owner and 11 to 1 compression ratio. . Previous owner had it set up for top end but I do use it often though and would lik to get sum power off the line. . .thanks for the feedback

Sounds like a good combo. Again, if you want to drive it often and have great off the line response, go with the 650 or if you want to keep the better mid and top end, stay with the 750. Nothing larger. Double check timing , vacuum, and the carb settings, especially the secondaries if they are mechanical. With that cam though you most likely don't want vacuum operated secondaries.
