cant put it into gear

Was driving last night and was very very hard putting it into gear. Was a few blocks from home and i couldnt put it into gear at all.
Pumping the clutch seemed to work at first but then didnt do anything. I had to turn the car off.. put it into gear in order to go in gear.
SOunds like the slave cylinder right? if so how hard is it to replace

our cars are cable acuated clutch so there slave cylinder to replace. maybe your cable is getting ready to break
