A few mods to KIMSPONY's 2015 EcoBoost

As it always starts out....no mods were planned! .... But that has changed!

We started out with a custom painted GHIG JLT CAI intake as painted and installed by Jay at #JLTPerformance

....While there in Virginia Beach, we left the engine cover there for Jay to do his magic.....GHIG with Grabber Blue!

....and last night I installed a Magnaflow Street Series catback exhaust system! .... it now was a little purrrrrr!

Kim is really enjoying her EcoBoost Dream!!!

Did the exhaust help with the sound of the 4 banger? Any I have heard so far, just don't sound right. So much so that it takes the EcoBoost off the table for me.

Sounds much better! I actually really like the EcoBoost and would highly recommend it!

Also, if there were two identical optioned vehicles but the motors, how much less is the ecoboost?

The ecoboost loaded with performance pack & Recaros can be $8-10000 less on sticker than the GT with the same options. Its a bang for the buck sweet powerful mustang. The v6 has almost no options to place. Only Ecoboost 4,& 5.0 engines . The current V6 will probably be phased out. Its in 2016 though, for now. We must now include the Shelby 5.2L V8 in the GT 350 version car. Like Tim , i like the 4 cylinder as well.

What sucks is this ....
I wouldnt mind the ecoboost,
But performance package is not available in the convertible or automatic vehicles.
Those two things i would choose for a new ride.
And maybe no yellow, but the burgundy.
Sweet !!

Performance Package is now available on 2016 mustang convertible. It is still not available on automatic GT. A change for this 2016 model year. Performance package is also available with Ecoboost 4 fastback automatic, 15&16 model year.

I saw one on the 'rack' at Woodward last year; was odd seeing the single exhaust split into two. I have never heard one run in person, just sound clips on the internet. The sound didn't impress me, sounds too 'foreign car-ish' to me. Which is why I was curious about the exhaust you put on.

I believe they really only left the V6 in there for fleet sales (i.e. rental cars). Probably figured they couldn't build even EcoBoost to fill those orders. Which is why you cannot get them with any options (e.g. you cannot get leather).

Go look at a 1985 Mustang GT....It was a single exhaust split into 2....funny how things use to work!

The EcoBoost is a great option IMHO that has A LOT of additional potential being the turbo is electronically controlled! There's guys out there running in the low 11's...

Yes, it will never sound like a 5.0, but it's a much better option over the v6.

Now, if Ford was to add a TT to the v6, we could talk

Car looks good. I'm jealous. But I'm an owner of an 83 Gt Turbo I hope to get close to the 300 hp out put of the new engine. Once my car comes back from the body shop,( been in over a year) first order of business is to get it on a dyno to see where I am at present with my modifications. Car looks good, keep it up.
