i heard people saying that it saves up to 10hp at the wheels, but i don't believe that A/C can take that much. i'll find out very soon.
my car was in an accident with a previous owner and there's no condenser and both A/C lines are ripped, so it will cost me about 300 to make it working again, that's why i'm deleting it.

it was a lil cheaper buying it from summit racing because i but the drive shaft loop and they merged the packages. if you're buying just the a/c delete it'll cost you more than it is on America Muscle. so if you're not planning on getting anything else from summit, you'll save a few dollars buying it from AM
and the kit is just a bracket and a pulley

thats friggin sweet bro! i was thinking of doing the same, since if its hot, i just drop the top anyway :D

gonna do a few performance based mods first b4 that too. let us know how it goes :awesomework:

i installed an a/c delete a couple weeks ago bc it never worked to begin with. i noticed it revs up quicker and also you can feel the difference from the weight that you dropped.

woohoo, came from work and found a big box in front of my door, the drive shaft loop is heavier than i expected, it' a very heavy duty one. can't wait to install it, btw if i sell the compressor, i'll get all the money back and probably a little more.

Ripped mine out too when the A/C stopped working and was told it was ~$300 to troubleshoot and repair the leak with the dye. Check out all the a/c related "junk" that can come out (about ~10lbs):


That's not including removing the a/c condenser core in front of the radiator.

You're looking to take out the accumulator and line coming out from the firewall. The accumulator is the black bottle looking thing and the line has the foam insulation on it. Then look at the passenger side of condenser core (right under the passenger side radiator bracket) you will see a line that is bolted in), you can remove that line too. That line goes between the condenser core and the A/C compressor mounted on the block. Follow the lines, you will see it.

The tool to remove is the fuel/ac line disconnect tool:

Slip it over the line and wiggle it into the locking spring...push in slightly and you will feel it release...pull the lines apart.

personally i love to feel the summer breeze with the windows down haha thats why i didnt mind getting rid of the a/c


heres some pics i snapped of mine, and what i removed. i didnt get to the condender yet or the thing behind the radiator whatever thats called. i was having trouble disconnecting the lines most likely bc i have a crappy set of disconnect tools.

I looked in the Ford service manual to see how to do it...Looks like you just have to pull the upper radiator brackets and slide the radiator rearward to access the condenser core. The condenser core is mounted by two bolts at the top. Remove them and slide the condenser core up and out. You shouldn't have to remove the entire radiator....maybe the fan to make some room to work. I still have to do mine...but the powerpipe (and possibley the intercooler piping) is in the way and I didn't feel like pulling all that out to do it yet. Shouldn't be too bad if you don't have all that stuff in the way.
