89 GT 175k miles..all stock motor + NOVI 1000 = 12.48@111

I thought I'd toss this up since it is an example of keeping it simple and seeing good results. The car is an 89 GT, fully loaded with functioning A/C, a system, spare tire, 100% full weight roughly 3400lbs.

• ALL STOCK motor 5.0 motor, ARP headbolts and new headgaskets as only changes

• NOVI 1000 sueprcharger, 9lbs of boost w/Powerpipe

• Stock 19lbers, 12:1 FMU, C&L 73mm MAF, 255lph intank pump

• Stock lower mile T-5 w/Pro 5.0 shifter, King Cobra clutch, 3.73 gears

• BBK shorty headers, UPR x-pipe, MAC catback

The car ran a best of 12.48@111 with a 1.81 60ft time on 275/40 17" Nittos. Sway bar intact and the car is lowered with FRPP B springs and just has plain old KYB shocks. 100% stock 175k mile rear suspension as well!

Best trap speed was 112. There is more in the car for sure as the timing is very safe. With some weight reduction, powershifting, and more timing low 12's would be easy!

after I 1st installed the the SC a few years back..car had 150-155k on it then I think..can't tell by looking at it though...I detailed it all pretty nice plus the car has NEVER seen a single winter and stored inside.

I'll get him on here...he isn't much for forums though...

I couldn't believe he ripped off 1.81 60fts with it...lol. That pic was back with the 16" pony rims it has 17" 94-97 Cobra style rims now.

Thanks!! I just took the FMU off the other day and stuck some new 42lbers in it with a Diablo chip done by me. As soon as we get the wideband in it and tuned he hopes to get some new times.

Back in the late 90's when it was 100% stock and he was a novice driver he ran 15.0@92 I think? Came along way, lol.

Just goes to show the stock motor has potential...and is reliable!

Nope no intercooler, no water alcohol. I'm sure a W/A kit and some more timing it would go even better. It actually had a Snow kit on it before but never got to the track before it was removed.

The car is a great example of the K-I-S-S approach though...

? It has an Aeromotive regulator set to the stock fuel pressure and then the Paxton 12:1 FMU that raises the fuel pressure 12lbs for each 1lb boost.

All regulators are rising rate when boost referenced but are 1:1, even the stock one.

I did a chip for the car and it now has 42lbers with the regulator boost referenced, no FMU. No new track times.
