373 gears?

my car is bascilly stock with bbk shortys and king cobra clutch and flowmaster mufflers so yea stock any ways i just picked up a 373 rear would that improve my torque or top end would it do any thing at all and i know it doest and horsepower lol but will i pull harder?

O hell yea. I had them in my 02 gt auto and it chirpped every gear and even overdrive. Woke my car right up. I know alot of guys that have 5 speeds with 4.10's. I would stick with 3.73's I am planning on doing them next week in my stang.

Depends what your plans are - track, street or combo of both. Plan on staying n/a or going w/ a blower, etc? The rule of thumb says 3.73 for manual and 4.10 for auto.......but it's not that simple.

3.73 is good for street and strip.... i went 4.10..prob switching to 3.73 soon

Im running 4.10's. Gears are one of the best mods you can do!! It wont give you any top end infact it will reduce your top end speed big time.

I went 3.73's and a sct tune with my car...idk, it's much improved from stock but if it's not ur daily driver OR you dont need to hit the expressway for long periods of time to work like i do etc. I'd go with 4.10's with a drag radial all day long

I sent from 3.55s to 4.10s in my Auto Mach1, Performance is awesome, But for the longer rides, I hate seeing my tach @2700 when I am doing 65-70ish

In a 5.0 with 5spd, 3.27-3.73 work great. In 4th at 6000 you are around 120mph, if you have the power you can pull 5th but it is a big drop in RPM. I liked having top end more so I had 3.27 in my 93 GT, 140+ in 4th and still quick in the 1/4.

My 93 LX would hit 119-120 @ 6000 right at the end of the 1/4 with 3.73's with the original combo it had. I might have to run a larger tire or go down to 3.55's now for sure.

I think 3.55/3.73 are a great all around gear though for 5spd. 4.10 work good if you are going to stay NA but are WAY too much with a SC.
