2002 3.8 to 2004 3.8 motor swap, experiencing problems HELP!!

Hey guys my motor has blown recently and due to a tight budget i got a motor from a 2004 3.8 mustang and put it in. The car is running, however, the pick up is really bad, and when i accelerate it would sometimes stay stuck between 1,500 to 2,000 and the highest it would rev to is 3200 rpm. I was getting terrible mpg, mechanic said that i needed new fuel injectors so i got those in, hopefully they help with the mpg, but the power lag is there. This is my daily driver, can anyone help me out with this issue?? does the car need a tune or something or could it be something else???

it can be the idle sensor?,accelerator cable is sticking?,what was wrong with you old fuel injectors? did your mechanic explain to you?

well he hooked the car up to a computer and ran some tests, i was getting like 12 mpg which is terrible. On the computer it showed that one of my fuel injectors were not working at all and fuel injector 1 and 2 were putting in too much fuel into the engine because of the one that was clogged or not working at all. I just decided to change all of them instead of just changing one. How will i figure if its the idle sensor? and when i floor the accelerator the car revs up to 3200 and then starts shaking as if it is going to just turn off.

i had a problem with my rpms in the past being up high cause it use to stay up 2000 wouldn't lower down. so i did some research and it came up to be the idle sensor was bad. and with the shaking part that you're having i don't know why?do you get an engine light?does the the mustang stalls?

before installing the fuel injectors i got a check engine light for fuel rail pressure. My car was running on a 93 race tune so i put it back to stock with a SCT tuner and the check engine light was gone since then. Sometimes when i start the car it would not start right away. The engine would shake kind of stall. However, when this usually happens the car starts fine when when i turn the key back and start it again.

hows the starter? did you ever change it? you can get it check out for free @ autozone.

starter? no i didn't change that, it was fine before when i had the old 02 3.8 engine but after putting in this 04 engine i started to get all these problems. So i just go to autozone and ask them to check my starter...?

yeah while you there ask them if they can check your starting system(battery,alternator,starter) its all for free they don't need to take nothing out . just pop the hood up and they use their machine . just got my battery replace today. i had them test it first before i brought the new battery.
