1982 GT: Whats it worth?

well 1000? lol I would tell that person to GFYS, but ... realistically you need to pull out that whole gauge cluster at least what is burnt and see what is behind there salvageable, its an 82 GT, lot of people LOVE the 82 nose, so I would def say its desirable to an extent but until knowing what needs to be done to get it back up and running, and driving i would say don't sell yet, .... if just a few days worth of work and some wiring..... thats easily a 2500-2800 for the right person, .... 110 is pretty low miles ...I actually like it, I Would say have a friend look at it, or maybe some one from the site can swing by.....
True, but I'm talking in general lol. Most people these days are cheap lol. Just look at craigslist car shoppers lol. When I was going to sell my 79 Camaro, I was asking 5,000 and was quite firm as it had over 12 grand into it and was pretty much flawless. People were trying to offer me 2 grand and shit lol. Not that all people are like that, but the general populist are cheap these days.
The problem I am having is that I cannot find a reasonable price for a dash. I found a console for $50 but the prices I have found for a dashboard is 300-400 bucks, which kills me when you say it is only worth 1000-1500 because a new dash is 1/4 of the worth. All the gauges work so without tearing things apart I think that the wiring is not too damaged and everything is mostly cosmetic. I am a new member to the site and do not have any connections of where I might even find parts in my area. May not even be worth it to sell for 1500 bucks.
If you fix it up with a new console and dash, then you could get closer to 3 grand as long as there's no serious damage behind the dash. I'd personally just keep it and restore it if I were you. Sadly unless you find a mustang enthusiast who's seeking out your car, then all your gonna get is low ball offers. That's why I kept my Camaro. When you have more than 12 grand into a car and are only asking 5 grand firm and people offer you 2-3,000 that's bullshit. Shows how cheap people are today.

I don't know, why don't you put it away for a while so you can save up the money to replace the dash? I like the 82 GTs also. With the dash fixed you could probably get 2500 to 3k depending on the buyer. Some people like them, others don't. Are you selling because you don't want to fix it, or to move onto something else?
The fire I believe was caused by a nesting mouse in the exhaust. I have not seen an example of this before but that is the only thing I can think of. When the fire started it was just pulled out of storage and started. While it was idling in the driveway the smoke was detected and quickly put out but the flame came up through the shifter boot and melted the plastic of the console and dash.
