17 inch torque thrust

would these size wheels fit a 66 fairlane?? 17x7.5 front and 17x8 rear polished aluminum american racing torque thrust II wheels 4" backspace 4.5x5 bolt pattern with center caps

Hi,
I spoke with a friend of mine who has a 66 427 Fairlane.He feels that the width of the rims will pose a problem,and that you have a very good chance of getting tire rub. The variables are, what size tire would you be looking to run and how the suspension is setup.
