it's not that higher compression hurts HP, the problem is that the Turbo or any other form of forced induction for that matter, will create higher cylinder pressure which can create detonation on and it is more noticeable in higher compression motors. If he is running stock (or lower)...

Oh forgot to mention, before putting everything in the car, make sure that all matting surfaces are nice and straight. Use a straight edge
